INFOGRAPHYINTRODUCTIONComputer graphics mainly concerns the production of images or sequences of images (animation) using a computer. Hardware and software systems are used to create these images. Producing these photorealistic images is an extremely complicated task, but this field is in high demand due to the unlimited variety of applications. Infographics have grown significantly over the past two decades, and many software systems have been developed to generate infographics of all kinds. This includes systems producing three-dimensional models of the scene, rendering software for drawing these images, and associated user interface software and hardware[1].HISTORYThe field of computer graphics was introduced in the early 1990s 1960 with Ivan Sutherland. It began with the development of very simple software to perform the mathematical transformations necessary to produce simple line drawings of 2 and 3 dimensional scenes. As the days passed, the capacity and speed of computer technology improved, more and more sophisticated computers were developed. [1].Now it is possible to produce images that are virtually indistinguishable from photographic images[1].TYPES OF COMPUTER GRAPHICSThere are two types of graphics:VECTOR GRAPHICS:They are used in display devices from the 1960s. The components used are:• Components:– Display buffer: stores the display list– Display processor: executes the commands– CRT: beam deflected accordingly• Advantages:– smooth lines• Disadvantages:– Performance– no filled regions [2]RASTER GRAPHICS Raster is a matrix of pixels representing screen space. • Primitives stored in the buffer (memory) as pixels • Video controller scans the buffer • Determining beam intensity ...... middle of paper ...... assisted design and manufacturing.
