    First developed by the Austrian physician Sigmund Freud, psychoanalysis has been expanded and revised by many people. The main goal of psychoanalysis is to reduce internal conflicts such as rigid ego defenses or compulsive behaviors that lead to emotional suffering. To do this, four techniques are used to discover the unconscious roots of the brain: dream analysis, free association, resistance analysis and transference analysis. In dream analysis, therapists aim to reveal the latent content of dreams. They seek to explore hidden symbolic meaning by taking the overt or remembered parts of the dream and converting them into symbolic meaning. This was based on the idea that people unconsciously feel and dream and are one of the ways of expressing forbidden thoughts and desires. The manifest content that may appear may take the form of dream symbols which may have meaning. For example, a person running towards the sun in the dream can mean that this person is heading towards a better future.
