  • Essay / The McDonald's Change in Advertising - 972

From the early 1960s to twenty-thirteen, people stopped at McDonald's for an easy, cheap meal. Traveling around the world? Are you just going to work? Time is money, and going to McDonald's can save a lot of time. Through advertising, McDonald's persuades everyone to visit its restaurant. Although the modern McDonald's advertisement and the vintage McDonald's advertisement are both superior advertisements for McDonald's, the vintage advertisement is better because it has a better focal point, theme, prominent element, artistic choices, and feeling or mood . Compared to the new advertisement, the focal point is much better in the 1965 advertisement because it shows a clearer focal point. The first thing viewers see in the old commercial is the large McDonald's sign and the classic car parked in the parking lot. It might bring back memories or someone's childhood, or even remind them of a movie they love. The classic car in the parking lot creates many different feelings among spectators. The McDonald's brand is a superior focal point because the viewer knows exactly what the ad will be about as soon as they watch it. Nothing screams McDonald's more than a golden arch! The McDonald's sign says “Wonderful Hamburgers”. Hamburgers is a term that McDonald's almost no longer uses today. Even though old advertising has a better focal point, modern advertising has a good focal point. Like the old ad, the new ad has a decent focal point. In this ad, there are two focal points: On the left side, there is a salad. And on the right, a salad accompanied by a complete meal consisting of a burger, a drink and a salad. This would instantly make people think that there are healthy options for them at McDonald's and so they would want to stop and eat. The brig... in the middle of paper...... at home, it could make you happy. You can now order a salad at McDonald's without gaining a lot of weight. Because the new ad has a decent projects vibe or theme, it is a superior ad for McDonald's. Over the past fifty years, McDonald's has changed its advertising enormously. Instead of showing the restaurant as a whole, McDonald's now only displays the food and products it serves you. It's a big change, but it was probably for the best. Advertisements are what make big companies successful. Without advertising, people wouldn't know about some of the restaurants there. Elements such as focal point, theme, prominent element, artistic choices and feeling or mood are what make advertisements speak to people. Although the new ad is a great advertisement for the McDonald's company, the old ad is better because it better represents all of these elements..
