    INTRODUCTIONThis research plan focuses on the most likely effects of insomnia on the daily life of a college student. Influential factors such as lifestyle, physical health and psychological health predict the occurrence of insomnia in life. These factors in turn disrupt life balance and help to understand the effects of insomniac on a university student's academic performance, social life, and psychological well-being. By doing so, one can determine the implication of the research and its applicability to the contemporary context.REVIEW OF LITERATUREIntroductionIn this 21st century, rapid developments in science and technology have undoubtedly made the life of the crowd easy and comfortable . However, the level of psychological stress has reached its peak. Certainly, this has led to many psychological disorders, for example, sleep disorders, schizophrenia, depression and anxiety, etc. Among these, sleep disorders are one of the main problems (Field, Diego, Pelaez, Deeds, & Delgado, 2009). Advameg (2010) explained sleep disorder as a condition characterized by an interruption in the quantity, quality and timing of sleep. Categorically, sleep disorders are divided into dyssomnias, parasomnias, sleep disorders associated with mental, neurological, or other medical disorders, and proposed sleep disorders (American Academy of Sleep Medicine, 2001). Recent studies show that sleep disorders are more prevalent among college students than others (Buboltz, Brown, & Soper, cited in Ellis & Fox, 2004). The most common among these categories is insomnia. InsomniaThe word “Insomnia” has its roots from the Latin word “insomnius”, which basically means lack of sleep (Scott and Judge, 2010). Neurological: branch of medical science that deals with the nervous system and related disorders. .Prevalence: total number of disease cases reported in a certain sample group. Cognitive functioning: medical term used for processing thoughts. Fusion: in this context, it is about mixing two different things. Comorbidity: A term used to refer to the coexistence of unrelated disease and illness processes.Serotonin System: Serotonin is a hormone and neurotransmitter that takes care of certain physiology in the body. In this context, the seretonergic system refers to hormonal regulation.
