  • Essay / University life: the ideal college - 689

Everyone is required to have imagination for university life before being enrolled. I am no exception either. For my ideal college, it should be the same for foreign television series broadcast, with a large lush meadow where students can lie down under the shade of leaves, read books or chat with close friends; a large number of clubs are created at school; students can participate in various activities like singing competitions, speeches by famous personalities, exclusive events organized by the school, etc. Additionally, a wonderful university would not be complete without a spectacular library, thanks to a vast collection of books and global and comprehensive resources. However, all these imaginations disappeared without a second when I entered my university. There was a large lush meadow in the center of campus, although it can hardly meet my expectations because countless insects lived there. Which I compromise on since it will never be as clean as the soft carpet in my cozy home. After a month of struggling to get used to new and unfamiliar things, I was bitterly told that I was defeated as this college was completely beyond my imagination. The college was located in a township and surrounded by mountains. The best description was living in a wild national park. Being woken up by birds' tweets was no longer an absurdity, with the change of season it was also possible to hear different types of bird sounds. The natural environment here allowed those who had a strong curiosity about insects to observe them directly, upon seeing them, they failed to rush into the dormitory and received a serious knock on the window, falling upon the windowsill like a heroic death. Studying at this college is like a...... middle of paper...... gives a few types of roommates to choose from; strangers, students with similar habits or classmate. However, we had no choice but to live with classmates. It was free to discuss homework if I thought positively, which meant I had to stay with the same group of people 24/7 regardless of waking up, classes, eating, and even sleeping all the evenings. It was definitely inflexible and exhausting in the long run, especially for me who placed great importance on private matters and quality of life. The gap between imagination and reality is still hard, but I still have to face it. Escaping from the real world is never a good way to solve problems. If it's hard to love what I've chosen or smile and bear it, it's time to take action. I am well prepared to change the unsatisfactory situation and make it more acceptable.
