I have chosen the universal truth “the devil, in the human imagination, manifests himself in many forms”. The reason I chose this universal truth is because I have heard people say things similar to my universal truth. There are also an extraordinary amount of examples of how the devil still manifests himself today. Some examples I will use are black cats and certain types of music. Superstitions play a large role in how the devil still manifests himself. Superstitions are something that people find the devil in. People believe in their superstitions as if it were a way of life. People will avoid and panic over little things that really aren't that important. People would have fits over black cats, records, the number 13, Friday the 13th and the Wigi board. Older people tend to have a harder time dealing with these superstitions. The reason many people believe these superstitions is because their parents told them these things. Superstitions are something that are essentially passed down from generation to generation. Many people are terrified of these superstitions, simple things that aren't that big of a deal. People consider these things to be more important than they really should be. Grandparents tend to have a harder time dealing with these superstitions. They were raised to completely believe in these superstitions. They won't even take a second look or take a chance on any of these things. They won't even risk a curse or bad luck. People believe that certain things have the devil in them. Black cats are something that scares people a lot. There are superstitions about black cats. People believe that if a black cat runs in front of you, you will have bad luck ... middle of paper ... evil today and also years ago. Back in the days of records, people actually believed that if you put a record in the record player backwards, you would hear the devil's words. The Beatles were a band that people believed could do that too. The reason they believed it was the devil's words was because it would play the record completely backwards. Every word sung would have been sung backwards. Parents would forbid their children from listening to certain bands because of this. No one ever completely proved this, but they believed it was the devil because they couldn't understand words spoken backwards. These things are just some of the things in which people find the devil. I learned that people find the devil that way. a lot of things. Things you wouldn't think you could find the devil in, you can.
