  • Essay / The Argument Against Uniforms in Schools - 794

I don't think children or teenagers should be forced to wear school uniforms. This deprives them of their freedom of expression. They should have the right to wear whatever they want whenever they want. The uniforms are degrading and appalling. Everything would be dull and boring if everyone looked the same and wore the same clothes! What happened to our American Constitution? Some children become stressed and might become depressed because they cannot choose what to wear. In our own country? The land of the free and the home of the brave and we can't even choose what we wear? The effect would be this: students would become angry and violent, and in the worst case, suicide. Children and teenagers have the right to choose what they wear, of course it may take a little more time, but in the long run it is worth it. Everyone has the right to express themselves freely and according to their appearance. This can tell what kind of person he is. Think about it, you walk into a school that has uniforms, you see everyone wearing the same clothes, who is who? What kind of personality could they have, maybe like being a brick in a wall. Walk into a school without a uniform and you can instantly recognize anyone's personality by what they wear, so they express their emotions through their clothes. Anyone can sneak into YOUR school wearing a uniform pretending to be a student and possibly selling illegal items. Suppose two people look alike and wear the same uniform. One of them committed a serious crime. They both appear on camera at the same time. You can't tell them apart. So security? It's the same as stealing. They say it's a free country, but when they do that and force students to wear uniforms, it restricts their freedoms. The school board is sending a simple message by doing this... middle of paper ...... showing off one's wealth, such as through expensive locks of hair, jewelry or manicures. Students will also inevitably talk about their families, vacations, and hobbies. Finally, students will wear normal clothing to social events outside of school, which may establish social hierarchies based on clothing, if such hierarchies exist. Read on. Additionally, it is unfair to assume that students cannot make friends with people dressed differently. than them. Students are already able to cross boundaries without having to wear identical clothes, and schools can encourage this through leadership activities and group discussions. So, in conclusion, I don't think students should be forced to wear school uniforms, but I digress, we all disagree on something, right? debate-one203837
