  • Essay / Keep It On The Track - 732

Keep It On The Track Everyone speeds from time to time or drives in a way that doesn't obey the rules of the road. I have pretty good experience with breaking traffic laws, like overturning my mother's car or even speeding up to 130 mph, and sometimes drag racing on the open road. After a bunch of tickets and an increase in my insurance rates, I realized I had to keep reckless driving off the track. I always seemed to not learn from the first mistake when it came to driving, after my first car accident you would think I would learn to obey driving laws. I had just left work at 5 p.m. and my coworker was outside smoking a cigarette and yelled "go ahead and show me you can really burn out" as I got into my car, and of course, I wouldn't say no. I put my car in gear, took off and burned rubber in the empty parking lot, as I slide out of the parking lot I hear a loud noise, it's my front passenger's tire that erupted and the next thing I knew I was out of control. from the car and in front of me is a sidewalk that leads to a shopping center but is about 10 feet deep. At this point my car is in the air and the car lands nose first, knocking it over. I crawl out of the car and realize I just wrecked my mother's car. Driving fast in the car I built is my favorite thing and it got me into a lot of trouble, but I felt the rush was worth it. It was a few summers ago and I had just put my turbo in, I was on the highway on my way to the local car meet and I decide to take off, I get my car up to 100 mph then I slow down, but then I want to time it this time, so I pull out my phone to use my timer and take off again, but this time I get up to 128 mph and stretch it all the way to the Capital Boulevard exit. That's exactly what I thought... middle of paper... but I'll be one of those who won't make it. As soon as I slowed my car down so I could turn around, three cops came towards my car and realized I couldn't go anywhere. The officers cars pull up and one of the officers tells me to throw my keys out the window and I was taken downtown for the night and it was explained to me that my car would be impounded by the department and would be crushed due to illegal street changes and I will have to watch the day they crush my car as punishment, including the several tickets I received. Driving is a really good and fun thing to do, but if you overuse the power of a car, it can be tragic. It took me a while to realize that this sport is supposed to be monitored on the track, after flipping my mother's car, receiving numerous tickets and ultimately getting caught off the track, I clearly learned my lesson..
