    Philosophy Unit 5 DB (Initial Post)In view of contemporary moral philosophy, it is quite obvious that David is stuck in a normative ethical position; he is torn between doing what is morally right, based on the company's stipulated policies, and ignoring everything for the sake of his personal interests. However, if I were in David's position, I would do exactly what I was hired to do (Cejudo Córdoba, 2013). From an ethics perspective, I would research potential Echo Industries suppliers and vendors to ensure compliance with their ethics department. Even though his boss, Mr. Sanders, vouches for Verlon and assures David a promotion if he looks the other way, it would be unethical to award the contract to the company. I would therefore not award the contract to those close to the senior executives, in this case to the vice-president of the company.
