  • Essay / Intervention plan - 2368

Intervention planIn order to fully understand and respond to the needs of learners, teachers must know how to use various methods for evaluation purposes. What is important is that teachers are able to understand and use assessment in a way that is consistent with “best practice.” As students learn, their knowledge and skills develop. This is why teachers should use a combination of strategies to meet best practices in assessment. Not only should assessment follow learning in order to assess a student's performance for example, but it is also possible to use assessment before teaching to make informed future teaching decisions. In order to demonstrate best practices in evaluation, an intervention plan was developed. around three kindergarten students who need extra help developing their phonemic awareness and letter-sound correspondences. Student Profile Three students from a local kindergarten class are used for this assignment. Student A - The youngest student in the group and his class was not yet five years old. This could partly explain his delay in certain areas of learning. He is able to name most phonemes, but has difficulty learning consonant and vowel digraphs. Student B: In general, he does well and can identify most of the phonemes that have been introduced so far. However, he is having difficulty with several digraphs and blends and needs help in these areas. He becomes easily frustrated when attempting mixtures. Student C - Generally proficient and can identify most phonemes and digraphs; he makes solid attempts at mixing. However, its reading should benefit from additional help to increase its middle of paper...... Initial and final consonant blends/clusters - Picture graphs and matching.
