  • Essay / The Evolution of Air Transportation in the United States - 1307

IntroductionFollowing the birth of flight in 1903, air transportation became a crucial means of transportation for people and goods; people were able to transport goods and products from one place to another easily, saving time. However, more than a hundred years after the discovery of the first airplane, significant upheavals took place in the way people traveled. The commercial airline sector is a major industry that millions of people rely on for the benefits associated with its services; many were able to profit from their businesses and shape their lifestyles. For these and other reasons, it is important to discuss the evolution of the air travel industry in the United States by mentioning the problems and benefits associated with it (Vasigh & Fleming, 2013, p. 67) . To begin, it is important to mention that there were factors that contributed to the evolution of airlines in the United States. These factors include: Demand for air transport services, particularly in mail and horticulture. As a result of unions that connected many parts of the world, there was a need to transport goods and services from one place to another. Some of these products were perishable like horticulture. This meant establishing a faster means of transportation to ensure that goods and services reached destinations while remaining in good condition. Therefore, air transport was the only fastest way and therefore needed to be improved. who might consider improving services o...... middle of paper ...... efforts that included a plane crash. Later, air routes were established and the Civil Aeronautics Council developed rules that could regulate certain matters related to air transportation. Among these was the establishment of a constant fare cost that could not be expensive for passengers and cheap for air carriers (Vasigh & Fleming, 2013, p. 83).
