Autobiographical WritingMy 5th BirthdayMy 5th birthday is one of my earliest memories and this is the first birthday I remember. I don't know why it stuck in my memory so much, but I remember it. like it was yesterday. It started very early in the morning around 5am, which is ridiculously early to get up and you wouldn't catch me getting up that early these days, but at the time I was used to it because my mother worked nights and my father started working around 6, so I had to go around my next door neighbor's house until my mother came home around 8, the lady of next door was called Maureen, she was about 50 years old and quite short and had short gray hair. I remember her being very kind, she had a colossal collection of videos that she let me watch every morning and she always offered me drinks, cookies, cakes and anything you could think of, her cooking was Aladdin's cave of cooking and provisions. Morning On my birthday, my father came to my room and picked me up to carry me next door. I was still asleep without really knowing what was going on around me until the frightening cold of the early morning hit me in the head, angered me, then cut off my fingers and toes. My dad rushed to take me to Maureen's house as quickly as possible when I got there. My dad and I sat down and had a cup of rose tea with Maureen before we had to rush to work, then she brought out a bowl of piping hot ready break which is like a kids version of porridge with a ton of sugar and a scoop of milk, it was delicious, I chewed it like a frog would a fly, I was still pretty sleepy so I took a nap on the couch. When I woke up, a gigantic box wrapped in lime green packaging was standing in the center of the room.
