    The third world all started with imperialism. Imperialism was led by Europeans who went in search of foreign treasures and conquered everything in their path. The idea of ​​imperialism dates back to ancient times, with conquerors like Alexander the Great seeking to expand their empires as much as possible. Imperialism began in earnest in the 16th century with the Europeans, whose advance allowed them to establish colonies in the less developed regions of the world. European countries quickly began to divide the rest of the world, starting with Africa and Asia, then expanding to the Americas. Colonizing the world became like a game for the Europeans, who seized everything of value in underdeveloped civilizations. The colonization of Somalia began in the mid-19th century, when European nations began fighting for control of Africa. Many of these European attempts met with strong resistance, and even frequent failure, from the less advanced natives. Italy, Britain, and France all attempted to colonize parts of Somalia, but did not succeed easily. These countries wanted to control Somalia, hoping that it could provide utility or wealth to their nation; England wanted to use Somalia to help export out of the Middle East while Italy and France hoped to use it for agricultural purposes. The three nations took parts of what is now known as Somalia, England held the coast, Italy and France to the north. The British part became known as British Somaliland and Italian Somaliland. This period of European imperialism could not last forever and decolonization occurred in three waves. European imperialism and the colonization of various regions. Many of these countries remain poor to this day and simply cannot have strong, sustainable government. Somalia is one of those nations plagued by war and seemingly endless poverty. Other nations step in and try to help the third world, coming up with their own theory on how to fix it, and maybe one day third world poverty will no longer exist.
