The main points of the program are as follows: each family will have a house and the comforts it provides worth $5,000 or a little more than that, but not less, no family can have wealth of at less than $5,000 and not more than $5,000. 5 million dollars, family income cannot be less than $2,000 nor more than 1 million dollars, elderly people can retire at 65 and receive a pension and, finally, that no young person should leave their family pay for his university education. A lot of people, especially the working classes, appreciated this program because it made everyone fairly equal to each other. However, many people disagreed with Long's program because of his support for socialism. Socialism is a classless society where everyone works and enjoys the same benefits. There is also no private property in a socialist society. Socialism helps eliminate competition to make all citizens equal. Everyone receives the same salary, the same medical and other care
