    Do students cheat because of pressure? Academic cheating has always been frowned upon by society and considered an easy way out. From a teacher's perspective, cheating can be unethical. On the other hand, from a student's perspective, cheating may be a necessary survival skill in school. Society has always focused solely on the horror of cheating, but it has never taken into account the pressures that essentially drive students to cheat. Many pressures contribute to academic dishonesty, such as pressure to succeed, pressure for positive recognition, and pressure to complete the task even if the teacher is not able to explain the material. There are various forms of academic cheating; the methods of this act are certainly not limited. Cheating can range from taking credit for someone else's work knowing it's not yours to lying to extend a deadline. However, using prohibited reference materials (such as books or notes) during an exam, copying someone else's test answers, and/or falsifying data are more specific methods of cheating . Cheating is not a new problem, but it is certainly becoming more of a problem in schools. This is a recurring issue that has continued since testing began. The only difference today is that thousands of years ago, academic dishonesty was driven by ignorance and was not taken very seriously. Punishment for this dishonest act was taken lightly in the past, but today, with this act becoming more and more intentional, society has portrayed it as a negative aspect among academics and teachers look down on it. This becomes a problem at school that never seems to end and will never have an answer to it. Although it is very likely that students will copy test answers from other students in order to cheat; not all tests are taken physically with students
