    In this essay I will prove that the Crusades are important for today's students to understand why they took place. The Crusades were a series of wars by Christians called Crusaders who wanted to reclaim the Holy Land; because the Muslims had conquered Jerusalem (Holy Land) and they had conquered many other countries, so the crusaders wanted to conquer them, so that was the reason for all the wars. It was the Crusades. The Crusades directly contributed to the growing influence of the Catholic Church in Europe and trade between Europe and Asia expanded. The history and war of the Crusades were recalled. Before the First Crusade, Europe faced problems. The population was growing and the millennium was approaching, with these problems and the tumult of religion, this meant that the words of one powerful man could gather an army and change history.
