  • Essay / Personal Experience Connecting with My Soccer Team

When I played travel soccer for the Watertown Soccer Club (WSC), my team name was the Wolverines. Throughout my time on the team, memories developed that I still have today. I bonded with many teammates, with one eventually becoming my best friend. At first it was very strange and we managed for a little while, then we took a dip. Both of our goals were from penalties, but we didn't think they were that good. Apparently we were wrong because out of nowhere they scored us two goals to make it 2-1. Fortunately, we managed to score another to push the game into overtime. After a full overtime we were still tied and we went to penalties to decide the winner. Some of our inexperience in the situation really hurt us. After the penalty shootout, we lost the match. After all my football days I can say that I had my ups and downs but I will always remember that tournament where we worked so hard but didn't succeed and how we worked hard to finally reach this trophy that said champions..
