  • Essay / The Different Factors Affecting Personality Formation

Over the past sixteen years, I have faced various challenges that have shaped my personality as it is today. I went through a very difficult stage in my social life when I was in seventh and eighth grade, at the ages of twelve and thirteen. I had a group of five friends outside of school, we were always together and they were all very close to my heart. It got to the point where three of the girls decided they didn't want to associate with each other, and I was forced to choose between the three of them and the other girl. It was an indescribable feeling of disbelief and I didn't know what to do. This incident was a challenge that I had to overcome. It all happened so quickly. One minute she was our dear friend and the next minute everyone was yelling at her. At first I just stood there and listened. I didn't say a single word. And then, in the heat of the moment, I started saying things to him. I didn't even know where it all came from. There was a pause, and that's when I realized what was happening. Say no to plagiarism. Even though I didn't say as much as the others, I still said something. I had hurt my friend. In a blink of an eye, she was no longer my friend and I knew things would never be the same. I couldn't let things stay the way they were. I thought about the incident as I sat in bed that night. Things could have been different. It didn't have to be this way. I could have done anything or said anything to make a difference. Questions filled my head, all I could feel was guilt and an empty feeling in my heart. I decided I had to do something, I couldn't sit around knowing my good friend felt so depressed and unwanted. Something told me that it was up to me to change things and make things right between her and me. Even though the situation seems negative, I was able to learn a very positive lesson from it. I learned all about self-satisfaction and how important it really is. It doesn't matter about the other girls and their relationship with this girl. Once I made amends with her, everything seemed much better. I have learned that it is important to live my life the way I want to live it and as long as I do that, I will be happy. If I were faced with a similar situation now, I would not let the problem persist. My struggle has taught me to identify situations where drastic changes need to take place and then take action to remedy the situation. I gained self-confidence thanks to this victory and I know that this confidence will always allow me to get through the difficult times that await me..
