    Training and development has become increasingly essential to the success of modern organizations, but some still view training as a problem or as something that is not taken seriously. Training and development is a key approach used by organizations to improve and maintain the capabilities of their staff. However, many experts distinguish between training and development, in that training tends to be more narrowly focused and tailored to short-term performance concerns, while development tends to be more tailored to expansion skills of an individual for future responsibilities (Snell and Bohlander 2007). The primary reason why organizations train their employees is to bring their knowledge, skills, and abilities to the level required for appropriate performance (Snell and Bohlander 2007). However, despite the benefits these organizations and employees gain from the training, some are still not willing to take advantage of it. According to Molander (1989), in the early to mid-1990s, training was generally not considered a crucial element in a business. the company's business strategy, except possibly for management training. However, recent data appears to show that formal training activities have increased in recent years, with this increase being the result of increased competition, the provision of new or improved services, changes in product design and changes in manufacturing processes. Investments in training and development are linked to a range of organizational and individual benefits, such as being a major determinant of economic growth and organizational performance (Santos and Stuart 2003).
