  • Essay / Common sense: an essay - 1499

« CS man, common sense. ” was a phrase that was repeated to me quite frequently in my life. In fact, the idea of using your head was a common theme throughout my childhood, and even now, as a teenager. Common sense is something that most people lack in their daily lives, although I fail to have total common sense throughout my life. Unlike some character traits, common sense is something people don't think about because it forces them to think. Our society as a whole has become so dependent on other sources of information that it has become stupid. You don't hear songs about people's common sense, but rather songs that eschew sexual interactions, wife beating, drinking, indifference, madness and many other ridiculous songs that constantly recur in the minds of people today. youth. Adults also began to lose all reason and all ability to think. However, at home, my sisters and I were raised with ideas that were completely opposed to what the general population believes. The theme of my life is clearly common sense and how it is represented in all aspects of my life. Common sense is something used throughout time and history as a means of intelligence and discovery. In a poem called Common Sense by David Brown, Brown writes about the England of his time and explains how common sense was frequently used in the decision-making process in the country, or how it is not used. "His song has a somewhat high tone: but it is an empty sound." (Brown, Stanza 5, Lines 2-3). Here, Brown is referring to a person who has a lot to say, but really doesn't want to say anything, and without using common sense, you would be fooled into believing that the man is telling the truth. This happens quite often in many people's lives that they hear in the middle of a paper...they want it to be. Common sense is something that most people lose in their daily lives; but it still remains apparent in mine. Throughout history, many people have had to explain the situation to others because they were too lost to solve the problems on their own. Common sense is present in my life in many aspects such as government procedures and daily life. Without common sense, life no longer has any meaning and has no meaning. However, thanks to my parents, I realized how important common sense is in my life and I made it the theme of my life. Works Cited Brown, David. Common sense: a poem.
