  • Essay / The Value of Living and Surviving - 706

Have you ever wondered what the difference is between living and surviving? I certainly did. Human life is a fragile thing that most of us take for granted. In North America, life is much more illustrious and more pleasant. Living is very different from surviving, as it took me years to discover. To live is to be able to feel the world around us, to be able to connect with people and not to be afraid. Just because we have breath in our bodies and blood flowing through our veins does not mean we are alive. In most of our lives we have young children who don't really know how to fit into the grand scheme of agony we call life. Older people have knowledge of things past and can tell us how to make up for our extremely human mistakes. Our neighbors are not just the people who live next to us; in fact, it is the people around us and the trials they have faced change their outlook on life. Life is a precious and valuable thing, but it’s learning to live that takes time. Surviving is generally a natural human skill that we are given at birth. Surviving may mean having another day to see a sunrise, but living to scream with joy as the sun rolls lazily across the sky is just as amazing. Children have the ability to do either, they can see the wonder in almost everything. Children never really know where they fit in the world unless we give them assurance that they will find out. When a child is alive, you can see the light in their eyes as they look in wonder at all that the world has to offer. When they survive but love is tiny and hard to find in their lives, their eyes lose their glow and while they see the world, they fail to notice the wonder... middle of paper... even something. to live, having a cheerful spirit can overcome many trials and survive helps them to live. The elderly people of our world hold many secrets of life and we must show them that we care so that they can continue to share the errors of human methods and that as they survive we can hope that They will stay with us. Our neighbors have obviously faced many problematic trials and we must love them as Christ has loved us so that the sparkle in their eyes upon hearing of love will fill their entire lives. We must keep them alive so that Jesus can have a chance to take over their lives. Living is a joy because it fills our lives and our souls, but sometimes we just hold on to our lives in this world, without thinking. If you can understand the difference between living and surviving, it will transform your life. Are you living or are you just a survivor of the tragic place we inhabit?
