  • Essay / Basics of Bluetooth Technology - 2306

The pace at which technology has been advancing over the past centuries around the world is extremely fascinating. Looking into the future, we can see that technological novelty will advance tirelessly. There is no doubt that we all agree that the 1st century witnessed advancements in terms of information technology unlike other centuries. One of the rapidly growing areas of information technology is wireless communications. Wireless communications are becoming increasingly accepted in a technology-dependent society. People around the world can now send and receive messages over the air, that is, via wireless communications. The evolution of wireless communications has been extraordinarily rapid, and the future of this technology appears limitless. For example, the convenience and widespread use of mobile phones, wireless networks, and global positioning system (GPS) are all means of wireless communication. Today, mobile phones, PDAs and personal computers are designed with different capabilities of wireless communication devices such as Wi-Fi, infrared and Bluetooth (Hall). However, Bluetooth technology is one of the most advanced means of wireless communication technology that is changing the way we talk, whether on the phone or on a computer. The question we might ask is: what is Bluetooth technology? How has Bluetooth technology changed the way we live today? Furthermore, what are the advantages of Bluetooth technology? These and many more will be discussed in the following paragraphs. Bluetooth technology was created by Ericsson, a telecommunications provider in 1994, as a wireless alternative to RS-232 data cables. Bluetooth technology is a universal short-range...... middle of paper ...... wire to transmit scans from the human body to equipment. Bluetooth technology could be improved to replace this wired technology to eliminate the need to connect and transmit this data using Bluetooth technology. The advantage of this type of test analysis over a wired connection is that it allows the patient to move freely instead of having to stay in a particular location until the test is completed (Aryadana, 2006). Another future application of Bluetooth technology is home networking. . Bluetooth technology can be very useful in home networks because it does not require wires to be installed in the home before devices can communicate. Bluetooth technology provides a convenient method to use the same devices at home and at work, allowing people to effortlessly access their data and perform the same tasks (Aryadana, 2006).
