  • Essay / Why I want to be a sportscaster - 1473

I want to be a sportscaster when I grow up because I would like to discuss events with professionals. I also couldn't see myself in life without being connected to sport. Plus, it seems really cool to be a sportscaster at ESPN, because it sounds like a cool place to work there. It started on September 7, 1979 and was hosted by George Grande and Lee Leonard and on May 17, 1998 they had their 20,000 episode. and in February, they had their 30,000 episodes. They then found where they ultimately wanted to put their broadcast station, in Connecticut and recently, in 2014, they moved to Studio approximately 7,000 employees for ESPN. The workers mostly live in Connecticut or Los Angeles, because that's where the two major train stations are located. They announce sports matches, keep us informed, also attend matches, interview players or coaches and give their opinions on teams and players. Jobs that are somewhat related to a job at ESPN are team manager, player, coach or owner. Another job related to this is that of a newspaper editor. You need to have basic information about your studies in order to prepare for programs or interviews. Identify stations and introduce or close shows, using memorized scripts or by playing the small TV right next to the camera. Interview the show's guests about their opinions and see what they think about current or upcoming events. They should make promotional appearances at public or private events to represent their current or past employees. They must cover specific events, address the area of important news or games that are of great importance. The employees' schedules are all different because they all work different hours, sometimes... in the middle of a newspaper... you get to be funny sometimes, so I have a lot of perks for this job. Plus, when I travel (coast to coast) and stay in fancy hotels and eat well every night and every day, ESPN probably pays for the food and hotel, so it's is also a very good thing, and what's more, it saves me a lot of money. And maybe maybe I could become as famous as John Madden, because that would be so cool because he's on movie shows and he's friends with a lot of famous people and he has his own video game. I also get to go to the NBA and NFL drafts and the combine where they train for the NFL and NBA coaches, so that's cool too. Maybe I just have to go to basketball to know where, when it's basketball season, that's when I work, so when it's not basketball season, I can spending time with my family and summer. But overall, yes, I would still want to work at ESPN or a sports center.
