  • Essay / How does Maslow's theory of human needs explain...

Maslow's model of the five basic needs for humans to progress, as described by Urwiler, RN (2008) are the physiological needs , security needs, social needs, personal needs. -esteem needs and self-realization needs. Once an individual no longer meets one of the basic physiological needs for survival, such as “oxygen, food, water, and warmth,” their behavior changes. “If one or more of these basic needs is lost, a person's priorities immediately shift toward satisfying the missing need” (p. 83). Maslow, AH (1948) also found that meeting these needs could also resolve other conflicts in society. Humans need food, water, clothing and shelter to survive. To explain Abraham Maslow's theory, we can imagine a pyramid diagram as also represented by Berl, RL, Williamson, NC and Powell, T. (1984). The more the needs of humans are met and the development of the individual reaches the peak, the fewer conflicts and behavioral problems there are. As the company advances, the hiring process will be computer-based only and the hiring selection process will no longer be based on face-to-face interaction, but on your level of education and experience . Perhaps equality of opportunity will then be possible. However, minorities still can't... middle of paper ... get it out in my community, at work, with family and friends. In my professional life, I will seek to improve myself and find ways to avoid conflict through my interpersonal and intrapersonal skills. As a supervisor or manager, I will keep in mind the needs of staff and customers in order to provide as much as my resources can provide. A model workplace and positive reinforcement for a job well done will be provided to my staff. I will look at how my action is a reaction. Online writing, reading, and sharing classes at Bryant and Stratton College helped me understand that everyone learns and communicates differently. The Think Sociology textbook by (Carl, 2011) also gave me a better understanding of these conflicts that arise in society. More importantly, ways to better understand what is needed to function in society..
