Currently, there are many homeless people in Tempe; City officials have implemented a number of strategies to help address the problem of homelessness among residents. Although several proposals have been put in place to address the problem, this article examines only three: the National Coalition for the Homeless (2006), Lois M Collins, Desert News and Fehr-Snyder, The Arizona Republic. The paper seeks to explain why the National Homeless Coalition is the best among the three strategies. The National Coalition for the Homeless (2006) is the most effective strategy because it seeks to address the homeless problem through a variety of means, including volunteer work. , advocacy efforts and contributions. First, the strategy requires people to volunteer their time to work directly with victims of homelessness in the city to help them meet their immediate needs. People can volunteer their time to work with children in various programs, share hobbies, and help build houses and shelters, among other things (Miller, Hess, & Orthmann, 2011). This is extremely important and can help victims of homelessness acquire some of the basic needs they are lacking. The strategy also promotes advocacy, which requires people to work with homeless people to press for positive changes in programs and policies at the federal, state, and local levels. Changes, if implemented well, can lead to the development of actionable strategies to address the city's homelessness problem (Miller, Hess, & Orthmann, 2011). The strategy, by advocating for the inclusion of homeless people in policy and program development, ensures that the strategies designed have a positive impact on solving the problem. Finally, the strategy encourages people to extend their concern and support to homeless people by helping them meet their daily basic needs. People can bring a variety of items, including clothing, household items, books, and intangible items, such as job opportunities and training (Miller, Hess, & Orthmann, 2011). This is important in the sense that it brings comfort to homeless people. Lois M. Collins, Desert News, is also a good strategy for solving the homeless problem in Tempe. However, it is not as effective as the National Coalition for the Homeless (2006). The first strategy encourages people to give excess of what they own, including food, tools, and water, to those in need and the homeless (McNamara, 2008). The problem with this strategy is that it does not have the power to mobilize people to donate their possessions to the homeless, because most people want to keep what they have surplus for their needs future and unforeseen eventualities..
