Willy Loman, based on the play Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller, presented the traits of a tragic hero. His disastrous qualities appeared before his predicted death when he realized that his life had not turned out as he had hoped. Mr. Loman gained sympathy from readers because he dedicated his life to a single cause, while having a weakness of pride that led to his catastrophic death. Willy was destined to die from the beginning of the story, just like a tragedy. the hero typically does this. The title of the work shows the fate of Willy Loman. “Death of a Salesman” (DiYanni 1777). The name of the play foreshadows the fate of the main character. The reader knows that Willy will perish because the very first words of the book tell him exactly that. The name of the literary work obviously indicates that someone is going to die, and once the reader discovers that Willy works as a salesman, we know of his doomed fortune. The opening scene of the play reveals another warning of Willy's death. “Linda: Are you not feeling well? Willy: I'm tired as hell. I couldn't come there. I just couldn't come, Linda. Linda: Where have you been all day? You look terrible” (DiYanni 1779). The fact that these words come from Mr. Willy Loman as only his fourth line of many indicates that his death will occur at some point in the story. He used the word “death” to describe his physical state so that the person reading the tale would have a glimpse of his fate. The reader can clearly see Mr. Loman's demise from the beginning. The salesman, Willy, heroically has a heartbreaking semi-epiphany about his life in the final scenes of the play. In his final days, Mr. Loman comes to terms with the fact that his years did not unfold exactly like... middle of paper ......- reality and eventual death. Tragedy." Literary articles. Internet.
