    The book consists of three main characters, Amir, Hassan and Baba. Amir who was born into a rich family and who received everything, Hassan who is a friend of Amir but who was born into a poor family. Baba who was Amir's father but who was disappointed in Amir and blamed him for his mother's death. Baba has a problem with Amir being too soft because he allowed the other kids in the area to pick on him and he won't fight back. In the book, this shows the bond Amir had with Hassan when they were growing up. The book focused on Amir and Hassan's childhood and what they did growing up and how their relationship changed because Amir has to move to America due to problems in Afghanistan. But after 20 to 25 years of separation, Amir received a call from his father's friend who would take him back to his hometown to help his friend out of the trouble he had gotten himself into. Returning to his home country, Amir found out that Hassan is dead and that in addition to his death, Hassan is also his half-brother who left his son behind. Amir seeks to find his nephew to bring him back to America with him. The Kite Runner basically describes some of the key concepts of Maslow's hierarchy of needs, although some of these needs are described in the book, there are other important psychological needs as well. the concepts described in the book as you continue to read and learn more about the characters in the book and their relationships with each other. The book has a lot of motivation based on Amir's passion for writing after discovering his love for writing. Motivation according to (Deckers, 2010) is a person's internal disposition to care about approaching positive incentives and avoiding negative incentives...... middle of paper ...... he did not believe not in his passion for writing in the end, he was still pursuing his dream of becoming a writer. This was achievable because he was supported by some of the important people in his life, including his father's friend and his wife. Because if that, he was able to identify exactly who he was as a person and it also helped him accept the fact that Hassan was actually his brother and that he was capable of taking care of Hassan's son . Maslow's self-actualization theory states that self-actualized people have a sense of realism, often motivated by a strong sense of personal ethics and responsibility, are characterized by frequent and intense experiences, do not do not conform to others' ideas of happiness or contentment, value their privacy and enjoy solitude, generally have a thoughtful attitude. sense of humor and tendency to be open, unconventional and spontaneous.
