    Imagine moving to Japan when you are seven years old. Growing up in the military, I saw a lot of the world. Japan is the most memorable country to date. See when you are a child, everything is new and exciting to you, even more so when you think about going to see things that you only see on television. I'm talking about ninjas, samurai and the shogun. I was going to see everything. I would discover that there was more to Japanese culture than I realized at the time. It was 1989, I had just turned seven when I found out I was going to live in Japan for a few years. I loved watching samurai films and films with ninjas, I knew I would love Japan. On the plane ride there, I asked my dad every question in the book about people and if I would see ninjas. His answer was pretty much to the point that if you see them, then they're not good ninjas, right. Landing at Yokota Air Base, I realized that my thoughts about Japan were completely wrong. There were no samurai to greet us, no ancient castles in the background. I had been scammed. After a few weeks of nothing, daddy came to you....
