My topic has become an important topic in the United States today. The topic of gay rights has made numerous headlines in recent years. Bullying and suicides in the Anoka, Minnesota school district have impacted many people's lives and made them rethink their decisions. The Anoka-Hennepin School District serves the areas of Anoka, Champlin, Coon Rapids and parts of Andover, Blaine, Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park, Dayton, Fridley, Ham Lake, Nowthen, Oak Grove and Ramsey. One story that really stood out for me was the story of Justin Aaberg. He was about to start school at Anoka High School when his mother asked him, "So, are you sure you're gay?" Justin initially responded in a soft voice, "I'm pretty sure I'm gay," but he quickly corrected himself and responded abruptly, "I'm sure I'm gay."
