    Many people don't pay much attention to it when using the Internet, but social sites such as Twitter and Facebook help identity thieves by providing them with personal information. If not careful, any information they post on these websites can be visible to everyone who uses Facebook and other social sites. The sites allow identity thieves to access family photos, your date of birth, your names and those of your parents (Brotherton and Cronin 48). The identity thief uses this information to create another account and direct them to harmful personal information.
