PepsiCo employed approximately 27,000 (2012) people worldwide. Until now, Pepsi's branding strategies, marketing strategies and promotional strategies have been changed many times. During the period from 1903 to 2014, Pepsi faced many challenges from different soft drink companies, including its rival Coca-Cola. Pepsi developed and rebuilt its brand at different times to beat Coca Cola. The soft drink company faces not only its generic competitors but also different complementary beverage companies such as tea, coffee and mineral water. In the United Kingdom, after great success with Pepsi, it launched Pepsi Max with the same taste as the original Pepsi in 1993.
