This is not a neutral description of a system. Beliefs and values ​​tell the story of why things are done in a particular way. People who are governed in these systems remain complacent. Every social system, including a meritocratic social system, has an ideology that serves to explain and justify its own existence as a way of life. The ideology of meritocracy strengthens the social system so that everyone has confidence in their place in society and accepts it without doubt. Individuals continue to work within the system because the narrative feels natural and uncontestable; they believe it benefits everyone. There is no way to test whether a system actually works, which means it is impossible to prove whether it is good or bad. This unconditional following occurs in students from a very young age, which helps to understand how Marx's theory of social reproduction
