    A. In the book "The Host", the "host" is the human body into which an alien "parasite" is inserted. Although the human host is very resistant and reluctant to undergo this procedure. Once captured by these aliens, Melanie Stryder becomes the human host of the alien parasite Wanderer, the main character, and is initially mortal enemies. After the insertion, Wanderer begins to realize that Melanie is a strong host who has fought back against Wanderer more than any host Wanderer has ever lived inside. While trying to search Melanie's memories for information, Melanie begins to overpower her, rule her, and overwhelm her with stressful emotions. Eventually, Wanderer falls in love with Melanie's loved ones she sees in her memories and does everything possible to provide help and safety to them and other humans. Ultimately, Wanderer is defined by her human host body and is forever defined by her host body after being inserted out of Melanie's body into her own host body. Before opening the book, I automatically assumed that the title represented the relationship between the host. , Melanie, and the parasite, Wanderer. It seemed to me that the image on the cover, the image of the eye of a host body with a parasite inside, gave me a sense of war, of love, of security, of trust and of honesty. In my mind, the war would represent the fight between the human race and the alien race in hopes of survival and conquest. Love and safety are said to be linked to represent humans' love for the loved ones around them and the desire to protect them from harm. And finally, trust and honesty between the host and parasite to ensure that both species are on each other's side and are honest in their intent to do no harm to each other.B...... middle paper ......y and human safety. Ultimately, the hatred and fury within someone will die out, whether it takes a little or a long time for that to happen. I believe this book is for the curious, the caring, the imaginative and the adventurous. It's filled with caring characters and connections of family and community. Unlike Edward and Bella's relationship in the Twilight series, Wanda and Ian's relationship is less clingy. Their relationship is formed of bonds of trust and loyalty towards each other rather than obsession and infatuation. I highly recommend this book to someone who enjoys the challenge of reading a 600 page book, who enjoys science fiction and unusual, uncommon twists and turns. Plus, for people who like cute character romances with a less cheesy and clingy relationship, this is a phenomenal book to dive into..
