    Music plays a very important role in our lives. Music is the very essence of life; therefore, people may identify with society or even be libertarian about their own actions. Victor Hugo is considered one of the greatest and best-known French writers, who once said: "Music expresses what cannot be said and about which it is impossible to remain silent." Basically, Victor Hugo points out that music can simply be a mood or a feeling that does not necessarily have to contain words. However, I can relate to my freshman year in high school, where “B-boying,” also known as break dancing, was my hobby. Where I freely expressed my feelings without fear and intentionally avoided impressing others, which is very suggested by Victor Hugo's quote, since he explained that music does not contain words and remains music with an expression which can be used in dancing. In The Moonlight” by toploader is my music choice because it brought back so many relevant pasts in my life, like changing my life from introvert to extrovert throughout my high school life. In fact, "Dancing in the moonlight" by toploader was music that got me into bboying and paved a path for me throughout high school. Throughout my first year of high school, I was humble and didn't really interact with most of the students. I had very low self-esteem, most of my best friends from middle school were going to another school. I didn't know what to do during this time because my parents forced me to go to another high school called "Eagle Rock High". My parents believed that the high school called “John Marshall High” was a ghetto high school; therefore, I was forced to enroll in the school called "Eagle Rock High", I felt alone since all my friends were gone...... middle of paper ......sic has a variety of color backgrounds; therefore, music exists and will never stop. Some people have said that music is terrible, especially the rap genre, I really disagree with that because music is great in many ways, it can be an expression of the life of the artist and the way she reflects to people the way they were raised. Music can certainly handle this. with our feelings in many ways. For example, the lyrics have many meanings behind the music, it's just not about remedy and harmony. Music is the key to understanding other people's lives because they may have had the same life experience as you. Music is a very powerful tool. She changed the world in many ways and changed a person's feelings from depression to happiness. In fact, children who study music tend to have larger vocabularies and more advanced reading skills than their peers who do not participate in music lessons...
