The church society calls on Christians to prayerfully seek and investigate the types of conditions that may lead them to consider abortion. We entrust God to provide guidance, wisdom, and judgment to those facing an unwanted pregnancy. The church also offers ministries to reduce unplanned pregnancies. They commit to the Church to continue providing ministries of support to those terminating pregnancies, those in crisis pregnancy, and those giving birth (umc-gbcs.org). According to the dictionary definition, it is the various surgical methods to terminate a pregnancy within six months. This can also be called an elective abortion.
