  • Essay / Preserving the Great Pyramid of Giza - 543

One of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world is the Great Pyramid of Giza. This marvel is “built to the hilt” for the future. However, this wonder is collapsing due to bad weather conditions and we should try to keep it balanced and sustainable. If this wonder were damaged, it would be difficult to preserve it. We should try to preserve this wonder because it has historical significance, great architecture and a deeper understanding of Egyptian culture. The Great Pyramid of Giza is one of the most studied for its historical significance. The Egyptian civilization could discover the main reason why this wonder was built. Pharaoh Cheops built this wonder with his companions because it would be his tomb, or resting place, and to preserve his possessions after his death. I think the Egyptian people should recognize what this person did centuries ago for his fame, his destiny and his achievements for Egypt. By preserving this wonder, the Egypt of the future will also be able to discover the life history of the pharaohs and its ancestors. This great pyramid of Giza is well known for its architecture. When he and Pharaoh's companions were working on building this pyramid, they needed a lot of materials like sandstone, bricks, and carving tools. For its architecture, this marvel has three burial chambers which were intended for Pharaoh, his queen, and a rocky substrate. There are also other materials that no longer exist today. I think this marvel is entirely made for its architecture. This marvel is still alive today but it is collapsing. “We should try to reconstruct the different parts,” said an archaeologist. I agree because the preservation needs to be rebuilt for every broken piece so that this marvel can return to its original state. This Great Pyramid of Giza can help to discover more in depth the Egyptian culture of the time. Archaeologists attempt to observe very thoroughly what resources, materials, structures/models and other tools were used during this period. It is a clue for archaeologists to uncover some mysteries that might have happened in Egypt or to learn about Egyptian culture. I think in the future, Egypt should learn this information to understand its history and its meaning, preserving it. Also, it could help the Egyptian culture to later become civilized like that of the time when Pharaoh was there. Preserving the Great Pyramid of Giza for its historical significance, architecture and learning about ancient Egypt in depth is worth a lot of effort..
