IntroductionThe article “The effect of clothing on sphygmomanometric measurement of blood pressure in hypertensive patients”, formulated by Rukiye Pinar , Siddika Ataalkin and Roger Watson, examines the effect of clothing, under the cuff, on blood pressure readings in hypertensive patients. Hypertension is a major health problem, and monitoring and measuring blood pressure accurately is crucial. There is evidence to suggest that clothing has no effect on blood pressure readings. but is this also true for hypertensive patients? Equipment errors, lifestyle factors, and tight clothing could affect blood pressure readings. The data for this study were collected by a quantitative method and statistically analyzed to study the results of clothed and unclothed arms. effect on blood pressure readings.Problem, objective and research questionsAlthough many studies have concluded that clothing has no effect on blood pressure readings, none of them have clarified whether there is the same for hypertensive patients. Since blood pressure readings for hypertension are so important, it is essential to get the most accurate reading due to the risk of diagnostic consequences. The aim of this study was therefore to see if the patient's clothing affected blood pressure and led to cases of hypertension. This is essential to ensure error-free readings. The question was whether it was better to take blood pressure on a bare arm or on a clothed arm in a large hypertensive sample. The research variables in this study included the independent variable, which was the bare arm and the sheathed arm, and then the dependent variable, the blood pressure readings. Demographic variables included age, sex, weight, and diseases. This shows the corre...... middle of paper ....... Clothing has no effect on this. Patients may be embarrassed to undress, and removing clothing may increase heart rate without a rest period before blood pressure measurement. Some patients are private people and some do not prefer to undress. For religious reasons, as a Muslim patient, it would probably be their choice to keep the clothes on. Blood pressure on clothes could be easier and faster. This may be more realistic in an emergency situation. If medical professionals followed the guidelines, dressed weapons would be the most ethical and effective course of action. Works cited Pinar, R., Ataalkin, S. and Watson, R. (2010).
