Hole In My Life is a two hundred page autobiography by Jack Gantos published by Farrar, Straus and Giroux. Hole In My Life tells the story of a time when some of Jack's choices changed his life and his life led to him being sent to prison. Jack was born in Pennsylvania and went to Sunrise High School in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Jack was a freshman in high school when his parents decided to move to San Juan, Puerto Rico. Since Jack's family did not have enough money to send Jack to a private school because he did not speak Spanish for public school, they decided to send him to work. Jack worked with his father as a contractor for a hotel. Jack was paid well and had an overall good lifestyle, but he decided that being an entrepreneur wasn't what he wanted to do with his life.
