    Title: Remembering the golden days of Singapore cinemas in the 1970s Background/Purpose of the intervieweeI conducted an interview with the elder sister of my father, who was 59 this year. My aunt was born into a family of four. At first, his place of residence was a one-room apartment on Market Drive. From a young age, his area of ​​interest was film studies and screenwriting. Despite financial difficulties, she managed to graduate from Singapore Polytechnic and started as a scriptwriter at TCS (Mediacorp). Currently, she is a freelance screenwriter and educational speaker. Some of the popular local dramas she has written include wok of life, Unriddle and Dream makers. From a young age, cinema aspired to become a screenwriter; she would therefore be a favorable candidate for my research. The interview conducted with my aunt would corroborate my findings in this essay and I would show what cinema was like at the time, what role it played in each individual's life and shaped the evolution of Singapore. I would then make a comparison between the interview conducted with my aunt and the information I acquired from other sources to determine the level of consistency. Finally, I would evaluate how oral history has deepened my knowledge in understanding the popular culture of post-war Singapore. Although the existing literature may not be accurate, as it comes from different people every day. My aunt offered me valuable insights and enriched my understanding of what cinema was as popular culture at the time and the role of films in impacting people's lives. However, it should also be noted that oral history only provides an overview of the events that occurred during this period. Memory may fade over the years or there may be information that has been omitted from other perspectives, including those of government, business and other individuals. However, overall, we must recognize the inherent value of these oral history interviews as in times to come; they may no longer be present.
