Traveling and vacationing is one of the most valuable and enriching experiences of our lives. Go to different places to increase our knowledge, open our minds, expand new moral values, enjoy the different cultural atmosphere, etc. There are many destinations around the world that will fulfill these desires. But if you are looking for a unique and memorable experience that will give you the opportunity to discover another culture through art, cultural events, historical sites and archaeological treasures, Italy is definitely a place to visit. Among the many places in the world where you can relive the past, Italy is definitely the most charming place. The capital of Italy is Rome, located near southern Europe, in the central Mediterranean Sea, northeast of Tunisia. In July 2003, the Italian population was 57,998,353 inhabitants (Italy, 2006). Italy consists of a mountainous peninsula in southern Europe extending to the Mediterranean Sea and includes the islands of Sicily, Sardinia and around 70 other smaller islands. The Alps form Italy's border with France, Switzerland, Austria and Slovenia. Most of Italy experiences hot, dry summers and mild winters, with northern Italy experiencing colder, wetter winters (Italy, 1996). It is also divided into 20 regions, known as the fourth largest tourism and fifth most visited country with many mountains. Italy also has a symbolic flag which was adopted on January 1, 1948. The Italian flag has three vertical bands of colors and each has a meaning. The meaning of the three colors of the Italian flag is that green represents the plains and hills of the country, white represents the snow-covered mountains of the Alps and red represents the blood shed during the Italian wars of independence (Italian Flag, 2014 ). The history of Italy dates back 2000 years. Therefore, Italy would be an ideal destination to learn about cultural differences, artistic heritage and fashion, given that they are known for their unique, romantic and charming look. I think if I could visit Italy, I would be able to compare Italy to life in America. For example, Italy is a total combination of beauty, culture and landscapes, as well as a difficult economic and political context. America also promotes beauty and appearance. Overall, Italy seems like an exciting place to explore as it has many attractions to offer. Maybe one day I will have the opportunity to take a trip to Italy just to see such an amazing place.
