Fish is a book about the importance of a good attitude at work. The book emphasizes that you must choose your attitude every day when you go to work. Attitude was central to the message of the book, but it was only part of it. The Pisces philosophy for a happy workplace consisted of four steps: choose your attitude, play, go about your day, and be present. Choose Your Attitude tells the reader that you must choose what you are going to do each day. If you go to work unhappy, you will make everyone around you unhappy and your time there will be that much longer. If you go to work happy and look forward to the day, others will be happy and your time will pass faster. The second step is play. You can bring pleasure into almost any work. The benefits of having a gaming stage in the workplace are enormous. The employees will be happy, the customers will appreciate the atmosphere and it will make everyone's life a little easier. The third element of the Pisces philosophy is to “make your day.” Including customers in the fun and games will create happy and satisfied customers. The final step in philosophy is to be present. You must be fully present at work for your colleagues as well as customers. Being fully present means making the customer your number one priority.
