  • Essay / Is it difficult to believe in God? - 708

Romans 1:19-20New International Version (NIV)19 because what one can know about God is clear to them, because God has made it clear to them. 20 For since the creation of the world, the invisible qualities of God, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen and understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. Is it really that hard to believe in God? Throughout history, all civilizations have valued certain moral laws, which are strikingly similar across cultures. The idea of love is fully respected while the act of lying is universally condemned. This common ethic – this comprehensive understanding of good and evil – points to a Supreme Moral Being who gave us such principles. All over the world, whatever their culture, people have always maintained a system of worship. The object of worship may vary, but the feeling of a “higher power” is undeniably part of being human. Our willingness to worship testifies to the fact that God created us “in his own image” (Genesis 1:27). Over the years, scientists have attempted to explain how the universe was created and how it is possible that humans could even have existed. An interesting scientific point of view to explain that God exists is in this video found here (Messenger, 2009). The video states that there are 4 main attributes that describe what a God would be like. These four attributes are:1. Eternal, not involved in the flow of our time.2. Omnipresent, present everywhere3. Omnipotent, all powerful.4. Omniscient, possessing all knowledge. The video goes on to scientifically prove that each of these four attributes is true and that God exists. In quantum experiments, timeless reactive consciousness has been discovered. A single conscious intelligence has been discovered that is unaffected by...... middle of paper ... in order to gain an advantage over a person, or to legitimately aid a cause or person. The thought processes and emotions that cause these feelings are where worldview differences come into play. As Christians, we believe by faith that this is entirely reasonable and rational. We all live by this faith, whether in ourselves, in our governments, in our money, or in our God. The fact is that everything in our lives is temporary and can change in the blink of an eye. You may lose your health, a job you've had for years, or end a meaningful relationship with someone. All life changes, but the one thing we can count on and rely on through it all is our Lord Jesus Christ and Savior. Works CitedMessenger, G. (Director). (2009).
