Democratic Debate The two people debating in the fifth Democratic presidential debate in Durham, New Hampshire at 9 p.m. on February 4, 2016 were Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders. During that debate, Clinton accused Sanders of waging a smear campaign to question his progressive credentials. Sanders accused Clinton of not being progressive on issues that matter to voters. Some issues include health care reform and Wall Street regulation. Clinton responds by saying that she is a progressive who gets things done without having lofty political dreams. However, getting things done without dreaming would probably not lead to a progressive society; after all, it takes dreams to improve and advance a society. Say no to plagiarism. She attacks Sanders on his policy proposals which she considers impractical. For example, she attacks him on his conception of health care; she said he wanted to scrap the health care law and start over. However, this was not true; Sanders refutes this argument by saying he wants to “rally the American people” to achieve health care for all, like some European countries. Sanders and Clinton also debated what it meant to be part of the establishment. Clinton listed all of her supporters to show how much support she had from the people. However, by listing all of his supporters, it showed that Clinton was part of the establishment and Sanders represented ordinary Americans. Clinton's actions have not been very good, as she tries to show how different and superior she is. This should not have been the main part of a presidential debate; a presidential debate should show what potential people have to create new policies.
