    was an Indian-Malaysian clash that occurred in Kampung Medan from 4th Mac to 8th Mac 2001 for 5 days. This incident occurred in Kampung Medan, Kampung Gandhi, Kampung Lindungan, Kampung Datuk Harun, Taman Desa Ria and along Jalan Klang Lama. Fighting is intensifying in Petaling Jaya, Jalan Gasing, Kelana Jaya, Sungai Way, Bandar Sunway and Puchong. Fighting began between 2 groups starting in Kampung Medan where a wedding and funeral were taking place. The wedding took place at a Malaysian's home while the Indian neighbor organized a funeral. Indian man drove motorbike drunk and crashed at Malaysian wedding. The people of the village became angry and scolded the Indian. The Indian couldn't stand it and brought a band of Indians and attacked the wedding. Subsequently, 200 people were involved in this fight. They were apparently foreigners. As a result of the incident, 6 people were killed and 153 people were arrested for being present and suspicious behavior. Among them were 95 Malaysians, 56 Indians and 2 Indonesians. 37 people were reportedly injured; 34 Indians and 3 Malays.3.0 SUGGESTIONSBelow are 4 measures to strengthen ethnic solidarity and religious tolerance.3.1 Ethnic Solidarity Measures3.1.1 Vision School or 'Sekolah Wawasan'Vision School or 'Sekolah Wawasan' was an idea to integrate 3 schools including an SK (Sekolah Kebangsaan), an SJK(C) (Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina) and an SJK(T) (Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil) which will share the same complex and the same school facilities while maintaining a different school administration , supposedly to encourage closer interaction.
