Smokers Have Rights TooIt's common knowledge now that smoking is bad, so we shouldn't do it, right? Not necessarily, there are a lot of things that are bad for us, but we do them anyway, like eating fast food. Everyone knows that anything fried is horrible for your health, but we still do it because we love it, and the same goes for smoking. Like other things, smoking can be okay in moderation. But some may question this, because smoking harms not only the smoker, but also those around them. There are ways for non-smokers to avoid smokers and there are ways for smokers to avoid non-smokers. People just need to try to change things rather than sit back and complain about it. Why should something like smoking, which is a personal choice, be banned just because someone else doesn't like it? Smoking should not be banned because smoking is a personal choice and everyone has the right to decide about their own health. One could argue that the main reason for banning cigarettes is not because they harm the smoker, but rather because they are banned because of second-hand smoke. Whenever we think of second-hand smoke, we think of the big cloud of smoke coming out of the smoker's lungs, but that's not what we need to worry about. The smoke coming out of the lungs has passed through the filter of the cigarette and been filtered through the lungs. The smoke coming from the lit end of the cigarette is what to worry about. This smoke directly releases the chemicals present in the cigarette and is therefore not filtered beforehand, which makes some difference. Secondhand smoke is a combination of smoke from the lit end of the cigarette and what the smoker exhales (Johnson). It is estimated that in the middle of the article......
