Throughout its history, the United States of America has been faced with the question of whether its laws and court decisions are just or unjust. Supreme Court, because they reflect the legal standards by which people are governed. Unfair decisions can result in injustice by prohibiting behavior that should be permitted and infringing on the rights of citizens. The United States Supreme Court is considered the law of the land and the decisions it makes must be respected. However, the Supreme Court's decisions, although they are the law of the land, can be unfair because they reflect the common sense ideologies of the time and include the final say of the majority. The decision in Minersville School District v. Gobitis in 1940 was unjust because it violated the Constitution and the Bill of Rights and because it reflected the ideologies of the majority and neglected the views of the minority.
