  • Essay / Short Story: Championship Game - 698

It was a cold and cloudy Friday morning. The most grueling championship game day had finally arrived for the two rival basketball teams, the Kress Lady Roos and the Hart Lady Horns. Weeks and weeks of hard, aggressive and close matches one after the other. Only a little time after that to prepare for the most important match of all time; It’s the game everyone prepares for. A ton of grueling conditioning and a huge amount of shooting leads up to this moment. All the girls on the Lady Roos basketball team are feeling excited, motivated and ready for the game later tonight. I'm constantly thinking and feeling overly excited about what the outcome of the game would be. We all had predictions about what we wanted the game to look like, but it depended on which team wanted it the most . With all the confidence and motivation we had that morning, we just wanted school to be over already. But it didn't end quickly. School was really a chore. We all couldn't wait for the bell to ring at three thirty so we could get on that big, hot, yellow bus. Finally, the loud and annoying bell rings. It was now “game time”! We only have a few hours left before we play the game of our lives. As we approached the enormous school, our opponents were already there. We didn't even want to look at them when we entered. We didn't want to be discouraged by the kind of players they were. As the minutes passed, it was time to get ready. We could already hear our loud and passionate fans approaching the gym. We love our dedicated and supportive Kress community. When the warm-up started we all became very anxious and nervous, but we knew we had to shake it off and stay focused. As we had our last conversation with the coach and said our glorious ...... middle of paper ...... to trap the player with our hardcore defense. The Lady Horn player panics and throws it clearly across the field. That's where one of her teammates was and as the Lady Roos rushed the court, she took a jump shot. The ball in the air for what seems like an eternity rolls and rolls around the rim and through the orange rim. The Lady Horns and their fans are jumping for joy as they just won the championship game. The Lady Roos, returning to the bench with tears in their eyes, must find the courage to shake their hands and tell them good job. The Lady Roos are devastated and bow their heads in complete silence as they get dressed in the locker room. To their amazement, Kress' amazing fans were all there, cheering them on and giving them nice remarks. Then they realized that the experience they had just had was incredible.
