  • Essay / Holes: The Italian Job Comparison - 971

The Italian Job ComparisonThe Italian Job and its remake have almost nothing to do with each other but they have something similar and say it is because both films are about gold heists. The problem is that the first one is more Italian-oriented than the newer version. I will talk about the first film first and then the remake. Alright, for the first time, it's a little more planning than actually doing it. The plot is that the main character Charlie Croker played by Michael Caine has just been released from prison for stealing cars. But when he was in prison, he made friends with an inmate who was very rich and powerful and had a lot of connections with people. And Charlie Croker was very close to the mafia, but now rumor has it that a huge shipment of gold is being moved to a bank in England so they will find a way to get it and pull off the biggest heist of all times. What they do is find a way to create a huge traffic jam during the holidays, which is when the gold is shipped. And they use the mini coopers to move the gold because they think nothing will get you through a tighter space and get you anywhere faster than a mini. Then what they do is knock out all the guards and steal the van with the gold in it and move quickly to put the gold bricks in the back of the figures because the mafia and cops are right behind them and they perform crazy stunts and tricks that they can't do to get away with it, but that's basically it. Plus, the ending really makes you think about "what's going on." Now for the new version, there's some really suspenseful and crazy stuff that you might not really understand if you don't watch the beginning because you won't know what they're talking about. ..... middle of paper ...... make a deal with the leader but he was already paid by Charlie and in the end Steve was killed by the leader, the leader got his share and everyone got got what he wanted. Well, except for Steve of course. But in conclusion, I think both Italian films about Job are good. But if I had to choose one I would choose the newer version, unless you are the type of person who likes old mob or gangster films then the first film is for you. The acting was good in the first movie, but what's disappointing is that they kept playing this annoying song that went on forever and didn't stop. But the overall sound was good. The remake was also good, they had great sound, but that's what you expect from a movie made in 2003. The soundtrack was good and they used a variety of songs instead of just one song. In addition, there was a very good image.
