    Abortion is not a “selfish” act, it can benefit the (unborn) child as much as the mother, if not more. According to Joe Messerli, "it is arguably better for society to abort babies than to have them raised in poverty and neglect, where not only will the child suffer, but society will as well when that child develops greater attraction to crime, welfare, etc. » (1). If a child grows up feeling unwanted and/or neglected, they could suffer serious mental health problems.
