    This essay was written in order to find a relationship between two great men WEB Du Bois and José Marti, and how they strongly believed in not losing each other while struggling to adapt and overcome new difficult but exciting times in the world for their two respective cultures. Their emotions become evident in their writings, Souls of Black Folk and “Our America” respectively. Both men believe their cultures can overcome the difficulties they face during their respective time periods, but not by following the path their current leaders are leading them. Changes need to be made and these two men have laid out plans, ready to be implemented, if given the chance. José Marti was born on January 28, 1853 in Havana, Cuba. All this resentment harbored against Spain during his adolescence was the main reason why Mr. Marti became not only a Cuban revolutionary, but also an advocate of a different way of thinking for all.
